About the Role
As the Finance and Tax Compliance Lead for Tanzania, you will join the Finance Advisory Services (FAS) team. This role focuses on ensuring tax compliance, streamlining audits, supporting financial planning, and fostering a strong finance culture.
You will:
- Ensure Tax Compliance: Manage relationships with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), monitor regulations, and oversee accurate tax filings.
- Support Financial Operations: Coordinate audits, manage tax documentation, and provide timely responses to stakeholders.
- Lead Budgeting and Forecasting: Drive annual budgets and 5-year financial projections, report performance, and guide departments on financial alignment.
Reporting to the Global Finance and Strategy Manager, you will collaborate with local and global teams to achieve financial sustainability and amplify impact.
Responsibilities
1. Lead Country Tax Compliance
- Manage compliance with Tanzanian tax laws.
- Advise teams on regulatory updates to minimize risks.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
2. Support Financial Operations
- Collaborate with external auditors and internal teams to meet audit deadlines.
- Manage tax communications, ensuring accurate documentation and responses.
3. Budgeting, Variance Analysis, and Forecasting
- Develop annual budgets and financial projections.
- Provide insights to country leadership and assist in mission-driven financial decision-making.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, consulting, or financial analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or ACCA qualification preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of Tanzania’s tax laws.
- Strong Excel skills for advanced financial functions.
- Fluency in English and Swahili.
