1. Process Analyst – Fixed Term (2 yrs) (2 Position(s))

Job Purpose: The Process Analyst will be responsible for business processes analysis. The aim of the role is to understand the value added in each step in the process and conduct a thorough analysis.
He / She will also be accountable to ensure timely identification of outliers/defects and waste in the processes and recommend the best approach to be used to address the challenges.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Create clear monitoring mechanisms on processes to identify outliers/defects
  • Establish clear metrics for processes to ensure any change from the baseline is done timely.
  • Identify and ensure that any process improvement change is metric driven.
  • Ensure there is a clear motion study for each process in the bank which is aiming on driving efficiency and productivity improvements.
  • Based on the motion study of each process, conduct process improvements initiatives to drive standardization and changes in service delivery
  • Create different Customer service guarantees based on best optimal performance.
  • Develop and prepare materials for use in the process improvement events, coordinate with management, provide instructions on the use of process improvement tools.
  • Suggest different process reengineering methodology and provide leadership to business and support function teams by empowering them to execute improvements to cycle times and eliminate defects.
  • Work in conjunction with other stakeholders, you will be responsible to provide desired re-engineering practices and to ensure alignment of the specific initiatives to business objectives.
  • Work with Branch Managers and other heads of units to align projects to strategy and to ensure their participation and support is aiming to achieve the strategic goals.
  • Challenge the status quo and propose improvements in cost, revenue and process effectiveness and efficiencies as appropriate.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in project life cycle of process improvement and reengineering efforts. Project management background is an added advantage
  • Well-developed analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, organize and gain insights from internal or external business data.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and ability to initiate and lead change
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and other products at the following levels
    -Excel Advanced level of skill
    -Visio Advanced level of skill
    -Other Ms. Office tools Intermediate level of skill
  • Proven Business Intelligence/Metric Reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Project Management or related fields.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification is an added advantage
  • Two or more years of experience in Process Analysis, or any related field.
  • Experience working with business re-engineering processes in Financial or Banking industry
  • Experience working with business processing models, Process Design, Requirements Management, and Project Management

2. Relationship Manager SME (RE-ADVERTISED) (1 Position(s))

Job Location: Dar Es Salaam Zone, Zanzibar
Job Purpose:
Responsible for growing both Liabilities (Deposits) and Assets from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for Business banking; advising the business banking department on business strategy, assisting SME Business Bankers /Relationship Officers/Branch Managers in recruiting business customers to ensure SME business growth.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Actively selling SME deposits, lending and cross selling of other banks products (Forex, Fund Transfer, Internet Banking etc.)
  • Appraise SME credit applications above the SME Business Banker/Relationship Officer limit from branches and provide recommendations for decision making
  • Take a leading role in driving SME activities, through networking and promoting SME activities with SME Business Bankers/Relationship Officers and branch managers.
  • Actively build the capacity of the SME Business Bankers/Relationship Officers through on-going mentoring and support in order to ensure quality credit application and Business Growth.
  • Monitor and review the performance of the SME Business Bankers/Relationship Officers to ensure that the targets are met.
  • Review with SME Business Bankers/Relationship Officers client feedback, market intelligence, workshops/focus group reports and review product design and performance to establish if change, redesign or re-launch is appropriate.
  • Co-ordinate budget objectives of the responsibility area on the SME products to ensure targets are achieved as per the approved budget.
  • Ensure that customer satisfaction for the SME segment is achieved by providing accurate advice for selling in line with customers’ expectations.
  • Prepare budget and projections for the SME loan and deposit products. The budget to include the list of existing, prospective and potential customers to benefit from the loan and deposit products
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong credit analysis skills – ability to analyze loan ticket size ranging from 500 Million to 5 Billion TZS.
  • Ability to handle customer relationships with annual turnover ranging from 10 Billion to 100 Billion TZS.
  • Excellent customer relationship and sound understanding of the bank’s loan products, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Corporate, Agri business and private banking products will be added advantage
  • Good understanding of Zanzibar business environment and cultural ethnics
  • Sound understanding of other bank’s loan products, policies, and procedures for cross selling purposes.
  • Excellent knowledge of banking operations and financial markets in Tanzania.
  • Excellent communication (English and Kiswahili), numerical, analytical, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills for both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Banking and/or other relevant fields
  • 5 years’ experience in banking operations, out of which 3 should be relationship management and or Loan Portfolio Management within the SME Business

Job Purpose:To build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement and maintain the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies into a Data Warehouse based on internal process improvements, automation and optimization of data delivery.
  • Identify, design and implement internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
  • Design and build solutions to empower users to perform self-serve analytics needs.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements and design custom ETL and ELT processes.
  • Implement enhancements and new features across data infrastructure systems including Data warehouse, ETL, Master Data Management & BI platform

4. Senior Specialist; Agency Banking system support (1 Position(s)
Job Location : Head Office, Hq
Job Purpose: To ensure smooth Agency Banking operations, to maintain high service availability
Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a high level of quality and availability of Agency Banking Platforms.
  • Ensure Agency Banking Infrastructure is stable, reachable/accessible and operates as expected.
  • Ensure Agency Banking servers are maintained regularly and propose upgrades if needed.
  • Ensure all Agency Banking nodes, applications, products, and associated processes are compliant
  • Strategic planning for Agency Banking systems to meet agreed targets with focus on quality.
  • Generation of capacity, KPI tracking and project progress reports weekly and monthly in a timely manner.
  • Perform system capacity and resources utilization management. End to end capacity dimensioning to ensure expansion is done timely and report is prepared and submitted to Head of department at least once per quarter
  • Responsible for the overall upkeep and management of all existing and future Agency Banking services, products, and their integration to the company operations.
  • Ensure all services like deposit, withdrawal, bill payments, account opening among others are working as expected.
  • Provide third level Agency Banking support of all escalated issues before further investigation to vendors.
  • To monitor network SIM cards data usage, bandwidth usage and their up time/availability.
  • Monitor Trend of traffic of all services including agent services timely in different parameters
  • Monitor services at Terminal management level (TMS) e. g USSD sessions timeouts, devices wrong passwords attempts, rejected transactions requests at terminal level.
  • Continuous transaction monitoring
  • Ensure all Agency Banking services, and equipment are integrated with monitoring system
  • Ensure all platform KPIs are realtime monitored through the monitoring systems and alerts for above threshold are triggered
  • Coordinate with business to make sure all agents devices are updated with latest app or firmware.
  • Support distribution of firmware/access to all agency banking channels across the network.
  • Ensure all agency banking integrations and APIs are working as expected.
  • Undertake system changes and any other projects assigned by the Agency Banking technical supervisor.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of Database Management systems Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle
  • Knowledge of Operating systems Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and /Or Unix Solaris Operating System
  • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Agency Banking business and operations
