Purpose of the Position

GardaWorld Tanzania seeks a System Specialist to provide expert services in technology design, system architecture, and project management. This role includes the installation and maintenance of technology contracts and projects to support security and operational efficiency.

Job Summary

As a System Specialist, you will be based full-time in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, specializing in technological and security systems. You will be responsible for designing, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Networking, Fire Detection, Intruder Alarms, and more. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in system design, technical troubleshooting, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation and Maintenance:
    • Diagnose, install, repair, and maintain electronic security systems, including CCTV, alarms, access control, and networking.
    • Conduct surveys and maintenance for various systems such as intrusion detection, fire alarms, and tracking systems.
  • Project Management:
    • Coordinate and manage system design, implementation, and reporting.
    • Oversee project timelines to ensure on-schedule completion and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all installations and configurations meet required quality standards.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on all projects.
  • Client and Team Coordination:
    • Liaise with project managers, administrators, and clients to ensure clear communication and customer satisfaction.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

  • Contract Management: Oversee contract profitability and resource allocation, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate staff, organize workflows, and train subordinates.
  • Operational Efficiency: Monitor and manage daily tasks for adherence to standards and client expectations.
  • Customer Retention: Foster positive client relationships through consistent communication and quality service delivery.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in security systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Fire Detection, and networking.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Visio).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years as an installation technician, with experience in configuration, integration, and troubleshooting of security systems.
  • Additional Certifications: Relevant certifications in networking (CCNA or similar) are advantageous.
