Imara Leadership Initiative (ILI) is seeking a highly organized and service-oriented Executive Assistant – CEO’s Office Intern to support the effective day-to-day operations of the CEO’s Office.
Imara Leadership Initiative is a purpose-driven leadership organization operating across Ghana and Tanzania, advancing ethical, inclusive and transformative leadership. Its work covers good governance, gender equality, health, economic empowerment, peacebuilding and climate action.
This paid internship provides exposure to executive administration, travel and mission logistics, meeting coordination, protocol, stakeholder engagement, administrative governance and special projects.
The opportunity is specifically designed for recent university graduates (2023–2026) seeking practical professional experience and preparation for the job market.

Principal Responsibilities
Executive Travel and Logistics
- Support domestic and international missions.
- Assist with itineraries, bookings and accommodation.
- Coordinate visas and transfers.
- Prepare travel packs and logistical checklists.
Administrative Governance and Compliance
- Track travel and procurement requests.
- Track payments and invoices.
- Support administrative requests.
- Help ensure documentation and approvals are completed on time.
Executive Office Coordination
- Assist with meetings and calendars.
- Prepare agendas and meeting materials.
- Maintain attendance lists and action trackers.
- Coordinate activities across internal teams.
Stakeholder Engagement and Protocol
- Support contact databases and invitation lists.
- Assist with high-level visits and delegations.
- Support events, accreditation and registration.
- Assist with VIP arrangements.
Reporting and Process Improvement
- Conduct basic research.
- Prepare mission summaries and administrative reports.
- Maintain operational trackers.
- Help improve office processes and tools.
Candidate Profile
Required Background
- Recent university graduate who graduated between 2023 and 2026.
- Strong academic background, ideally in International Relations, Diplomacy, Communications, Public Policy, Finance or a related field.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail and time management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Strong stakeholder management and service orientation.
- Professionalism, discretion, maturity and reliability.
- Sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work effectively across cultures, functions and seniority levels.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English.
- An additional African Union official language is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

The Office of the CEO operates at the pace of the principal. The successful intern will be expected to maintain a high standard of quality, responsiveness and discretion.
