ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
WaterAid Tanzania is part of the global WaterAid federation working to improve access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene for everyone, everywhere. The organization collaborates with communities, partners and supporters to create sustainable change and support development goals.
The Grants and Fundraising Coordinator Internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in donor engagement, proposal development, grant management and resource mobilization. The successful intern will work closely with WaterAid Tanzania staff while supporting fundraising initiatives and business development activities that contribute to sustainable impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support drafting of concept notes and funding proposals.
- Organize meetings and prepare meeting notes and reports.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for programme implementation activities.
- Assist with partner financial request processes.
- Support workshop organization and preparation of official correspondence.
- Track grant reporting deadlines and maintain reporting schedules.
- Support fundraising travel arrangements, including drafting Terms of Reference (ToRs) and advance payment requests.
- Work with different teams to support fundraising and business development initiatives.
- Assist with other duties assigned by the Head of Business Development.
- Promote WaterAid's commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics or another relevant field.
- Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with donors, consortium leads and external stakeholders.
- Fundraising experience in the NGO sector is an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Strong research and report-writing skills are an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships, negotiate and influence across teams.
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
