Position Summary
PESTON Group is seeking a competent, analytical, highly organized, and results-driven Group Accountant to join its Finance Department. The successful candidate will oversee financial management and reporting across all Group subsidiaries, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic financial support to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Consolidate financial reports across Group subsidiaries.
- Maintain accounting records, ledgers, and fixed asset registers.
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, management accounts, and cash flow projections.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, Tanzanian tax laws, and statutory requirements.
- Manage TRA filings and compliance using TRA IDRAS and related systems.
- Coordinate external audits and respond to audit recommendations.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
- Support implementation and optimization of ERP and accounting systems.
- Provide financial and investment analysis to management.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Financial Reporting
- Group Consolidation
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Taxation
- Statutory Compliance
- Experience using TRA IDRAS and other TRA systems.
- Proficiency in ERP and accounting software such as:
- Odoo
- SAP
- QuickBooks
- Tally
- Xero
- Sage
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
