Computer Centre Tanzania (CCTZ) is seeking a motivated and skilled Software Engineer with strong Linux expertise to develop, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
- Develop and optimize applications for Linux-based environments.
- Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Linux servers.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following software engineering best practices.
- Develop shell scripts and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor application performance and resolve software and system issues.
- Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and Infrastructure teams to ensure reliable deployments.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage source code repositories using Git and support CI/CD processes.
- Implement security best practices for Linux systems and applications.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of software development experience.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and Shell scripting.
- Experience working with Git, APIs, and relational databases.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience working within Agile or DevOps environments is an added advantage.
