Turkish Maarif Foundation is recruiting a qualified and experienced Accountant / Tax Officer to manage taxation, statutory reporting and financial compliance in Dar es Salaam.
The position is ideal for an accounting professional with strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, practical experience using Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) systems and the ability to manage complex tax obligations accurately.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and file statutory tax returns within required deadlines.

Manage corporate income tax, VAT, WHT, PAYE, SDL and other applicable tax obligations.

Ensure compliance with Tanzanian tax laws and TRA procedures.

Review accounting records and financial statements for accuracy.

Manage payroll-related tax and statutory compliance.
-
Liaise with TRA on audits, assessments, reconciliations and tax correspondence.

Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management.
-
Maintain confidential financial and tax records.

Prepare tax compliance reports and identify potential risks.
Qualifications & Experience

Relevant professional accounting qualification, preferably CPA (T) or ACCA.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, taxation and statutory compliance in Tanzania.

Strong understanding of Tanzanian taxation and TRA procedures.

Proven experience preparing and filing tax returns through TRA systems.

Knowledge of corporate taxation, VAT, WHT, PAYE and statutory obligations.

Experience in financial reporting and payroll compliance.

Excellent written and spoken English; Kiswahili is an advantage.
