Finance Controller, Copper & Cobalt Mining | DRC

An established mining business in Central Africa is seeking an experienced Finance Controller to lead financial operations at its copper and cobalt mining site in the DRC.

The role combines financial strategy, regulatory compliance and operational performance, reporting to the Group CFO or Business Head.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations and provide strategic financial leadership.

• Strengthen financial controls, reporting and compliance.

• Support mining production efficiency through financial analysis.

• Ensure adherence to IFRS and applicable mining tax regulations.

• Oversee customs and export-related financial documentation.

• Use ERP systems to support financial management and reporting.

• Partner with site leadership on operational and commercial decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Professional accounting qualification: CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent.

• 15–20 years of progressive financial management experience.

• At least 7 years working in the mining industry.

• Copper or cobalt mining experience in Africa strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, mining taxation and customs procedures.

• Experience with SAP, Oracle or equivalent ERP systems.

• Strong leadership, analytical and financial decision-making skills.

• Willingness to work at a mining site.

Compensation
