Mogo Credit Limited in Dar es Salaam is recruiting a Payment Specialist to support payment processing, transaction verification, reconciliation and financial disbursements.
The role is suitable for an organised finance professional with experience handling bank and mobile money transactions, resolving payment discrepancies and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Processing & Allocation

Import payment statements from NMB Bank, Yas, M-Pesa and HaloPesa into the system every hour.

Verify that imported transactions are accurate, complete and free from duplication.

Allocate payments to the correct clients and agreements.
-
Investigate and resolve unidentified or incorrectly allocated payments.
-
Coordinate with payment providers to resolve technical issues and delays.
Reconciliation & Financial Controls

Perform daily and monthly payment reconciliations.

Prepare monthly payment statements and investigate discrepancies.
-
Verify payment receipts against transaction amounts.
-
Identify and escalate financial risks or suspected fraud.
Disbursements & Reporting

Prepare budgets and request funds from the Finance Department.

Process approved daily, weekly and monthly disbursements.

Manage payments relating to operational and repossession costs.

Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.

Submit daily payment updates and monthly reconciliation reports.

Perform other related duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in payments, reconciliation, accounts or finance operations.

Experience in microfinance or asset financing is an advantage.

Knowledge of bank and mobile money payment systems, including NMB, M-Pesa, Yas and HaloPesa.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and loan management or ERP systems.

Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to meet hourly and daily processing deadlines.

High integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.

Good communication skills in Kiswahili and English.
