About the Opportunity

Tanzania East Africa Gateway Terminal Limited is seeking an experienced Security Manager to lead security operations, strengthen regulatory compliance and safeguard personnel, infrastructure, assets and terminal operations at Dar es Salaam Port.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, applicable TASAC regulations and national maritime security requirements.
• Coordinate with TASAC and other port security authorities on inspections, compliance assessments and corrective actions.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigation measures.
• Develop, implement, review and maintain the Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP).
• Plan and coordinate security drills and emergency response exercises.
• Lead investigations into security incidents, theft, breaches and unauthorized access.
• Conduct security inspections, audits and compliance assessments, ensuring identified gaps are addressed.
• Coordinate with port authorities, law enforcement, immigration, customs and other stakeholders.
• Oversee CCTV, access controls, perimeter protection and surveillance systems.
• Develop security KPIs and submit performance reports to management.
• Manage security personnel, contractors, equipment and budgets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate in any field. Security management, criminal justice, security training or relevant certifications are an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of proven security management experience.
• Experience within a port, maritime environment, container depot, mining operation or large factory is preferred.
• Sound knowledge of the ISPS Code, TASAC regulatory requirements, maritime security regulations and applicable legislation.
• Recognised security management training or professional certification is an advantage.
• Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) training or certification is an added advantage.
• Experience managing security personnel, contractors and operations.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and respond to security emergencies.
• High integrity, professionalism, confidentiality and ethical conduct.
