Job Description

AngloGold Ashanti, through Geita Gold Mining Ltd, is recruiting a Supervisor – TFM for the Asset Management and Engineering Department at Geita Gold Mine. This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced fuel-distribution professional with heavy-duty driving, team supervision, and mine-site safety experience.

The position is responsible for coordinating the safe, efficient, and reliable distribution of fuel to mining equipment and other authorized equipment. The successful candidate will help maintain fuel availability, accurate transaction records, operational continuity, and compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate daily fuel distribution for mining equipment, mobile fleets, generators, and other authorized equipment.
  • Supervise fuel bowser operators across shifts.
  • Allocate work, fuelling routes, and emergency refuelling activities.
  • Coordinate fuel requirements with Mining and Maintenance departments.
  • Ensure fuel transactions are recorded accurately in the fuel-management system and manual records.
  • Verify transaction details and submit shift documentation.
  • Monitor fuel-management equipment and meter calibration.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of fuel bowsers, flow meters, and dispensing equipment.
  • Report equipment defects and follow up on corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings, daily briefings, coaching, and team development.
  • Enforce health, safety, security, and environmental policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Prevent spills, fuel contamination, theft, and operational losses.
  • Support incident investigations and maintain good housekeeping in fuel-distribution areas.

Qualifications

  • Certificate of Secondary Education or above.
  • Valid Tanzanian driving licence with Heavy Duty Code E category.
  • College certificate showing where the Heavy Duty Code E qualification was obtained.
  • Relevant fuel-management or petroleum-handling training.
  • Training in occupational health and safety, fire safety, and spill response.
  • Defensive Driving or Master Drive certification is an added advantage.
  • No criminal record.

Experience

  • At least three years of experience driving heavy-duty and light vehicles with manual gear-transfer systems.
  • At least three years of fuel-distribution experience in an industrial or mining environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience in the mining industry.
  • Experience using fuel-management systems.
  • Mining experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience driving Mercedes-Benz trucks, particularly the Actros 3340, is an added advantage.

  • Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work on a mine-site roster.
  • Commitment to zero harm and environmental protection.
  • Ability to enforce discipline and compliance with mine procedures.
