✅ Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of Corporate Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Excise Duties, and other statutory obligations
• Maintain compliance with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) requirements
• Oversee preparation and submission of tax returns and related documentation

Tax Planning & Advisory

• Develop tax strategies to optimize PalmPay’s tax position while ensuring compliance
• Advise on tax implications of business transactions, contracts, and investments
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on business impact

Audit & Risk Management

• Lead and manage tax audits and investigations by TRA
• Identify and mitigate tax risks through proactive controls
• Maintain accurate tax records for audit readiness

Leadership & Collaboration

• Supervise and mentor the tax team
• Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations teams
• Liaise with external advisors, auditors, and consultants

🎓 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• CPA or ACCA qualification is preferred
• Minimum 7 years of progressive tax experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, TRA procedures, and international tax principles
