1. HSE Officers: 6 Positions
Reports to: Lead HSE Advisor/Construction Manager Duty Station: Nyanzaga Site, Sengerema District
Job Overview
The HSE Officers will oversee health, safety, and environmental requirements during the construction phase of the Nyanzaga Gold Project. Successful candidates will support hazard mitigation, daily risk assessments, regulatory compliance, incident reporting, environmental monitoring, and the development of a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, and heavy-equipment operators.
Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Tanzanian NOSHC I and II certification.
Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
At least 1 to 2 years of practical HSE experience in heavy civil construction, mining infrastructure, or heavy engineering projects.
Knowledge of Tanzanian labour, mining, and environmental laws.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
2. Crane Operators: 10 Positions
Reports to: Construction Manager Duty Station: Nyanzaga Site, Sengerema District
Job Overview
FIDEM Construction Limited is seeking experienced and safety-focused Crane Operators to support site operations at the Nyanzaga Project.
Key Responsibilities
Operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and position structural steel, heavy machinery, and construction materials.
Conduct daily inspections of wire ropes, rigging equipment, hydraulic systems, and safety devices.
Inspect lifting routes and ground conditions before starting operations.
Deploy outriggers and mats correctly.
Confirm that loads remain within the crane’s approved capacity.
Coordinate with riggers, dogmen, and site supervisors using standard hand signals and radio communication.
Maintain compliance with site safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Record daily operations and promptly report mechanical faults or maintenance needs.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of rigging principles and load calculations.
Basic mechanical troubleshooting ability.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively under demanding construction-site conditions.
3. Pipe Welders: 20 Positions
Reports to: Piping Department/Construction Manager Duty Station: Nyanzaga Site, Sengerema District
Job Overview
The Pipe Welders will assemble, install, maintain, and repair high-pressure piping systems used for water or chemical services at the Nyanzaga Project.
Key Responsibilities
Cut, bevel, align, and clamp pipe sections and fittings.
Produce high-quality, defect-free welds on carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy, or copper piping systems.
Read mechanical drawings, blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and welding procedure specifications.
Inspect completed welds for cracks, porosity, undercut, and incomplete penetration.
Support non-destructive testing, including radiography or hydrostatic testing.
Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding machines, torches, regulators, shielding-gas supplies, and safety equipment.
Follow OSHA regulations, site rules, and applicable industry standards.
Qualifications and Skills
Certification in at least one relevant welding process, including GTAW/TIG, SMAW/Stick, or GMAW/MIG.
Ability to pass site-specific bend and 100% X-ray tests.
At least 3 years of professional pipe-welding experience in industrial construction, manufacturing, or refinery environments.
Proficiency with grinders, plasma cutters, pipe-bevelling equipment, oxy-fuel torches, calipers, micrometers, framing squares, and pipe-alignment clamps.
4. Pipe Fitters: 20 Positions
Reports to: Piping Department/Construction Manager Duty Station: Nyanzaga Site, Sengerema District
Job Overview
Pipe Fitters will support the construction, installation, and maintenance of high-pressure piping systems, valves, pipelines, and mechanical fittings used within mineral-processing and mining infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Read piping isometric drawings, blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and structural layout specifications.
Inspect, cut, thread, bevel, assemble, align, and fit carbon steel, stainless steel, and HDPE piping systems.
Prepare pipe sizes, flanges, valves, gaskets, supports, and hangers according to project specifications.
Prepare pipe circuits for pressure, leak, and hydrostatic testing.
Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and Job Safety Analyses.
Follow company safety, health, and environmental requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
VETA Trade Test Grade I, a certificate in Pipefitting, Mechanical Fabrication or Plumbing, or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
At least 2 to 3 years of pipe-fitting experience on large industrial construction projects.
Proven experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and HDPE or Victaulic piping systems.
Ability to read piping isometric drawings and spool sheets independently.
Knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, and AWS standards.
Competence in flanged joints, bolt-torquing procedures, and valve installation.
Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, OSHA, or HSE certification is advantageous.
Functional knowledge of English for reading technical manuals and drawings.
