Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vacancy – TRA United Football Club

TRA United Football Club, a football club owned by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and participating in the Tanzania Premier League, is inviting applications from qualified, dynamic and ethical professionals for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The club states that it was established to promote tax compliance, tax education, sports talent development and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

This is a senior executive leadership opportunity for a results-driven professional capable of leading football operations, commercial growth, stakeholder engagement, governance, sponsorship development and strategic transformation within one of Tanzania's emerging football institutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Board, football authorities, sponsors, community stakeholders and technical teams to drive sporting success while ensuring strong governance, financial sustainability and brand growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the club's daily operations.
• Define and implement the club's long-term vision, mission and strategic objectives.
• Ensure compliance with FIFA, CAF, TFF and league regulations together with governance requirements.
• Supervise sporting activities including player recruitment, transfers, contracts and youth academy development.
• Drive brand growth, marketing initiatives and fan engagement programs.
• Secure and manage strategic partnerships, sponsorships and community relations.
• Align sporting objectives with commercial goals.
• Represent the club before football governing bodies nationally and internationally.
• Manage the club's budget and financial accountability.
• Drive revenue from sponsorships, partnerships, broadcasting rights and merchandising.
• Build and protect the club's brand reputation locally and internationally.
• Report to the Club Board on performance and strategic matters.
• Promote transparency, accountability and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Management, Leadership, Sports Management or another relevant field.
• Minimum five years in football administrative leadership.
• Minimum three years of senior management experience.
• Demonstrated experience in sports administration, commercial management or leadership of large organizations.
• Strong understanding of Tanzanian football governance, NBC Premier League regulations and sports law.
• Proven ability to deliver organizational transformation and measurable business results.
