Head of Retail Credit, Commercial Lending

Role overview

NMB Bank seeks a Head of Retail Credit, Commercial Lending, at its Head Office in Tanzania. One position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial-lending credit assessment, approval, monitoring and reporting.
• Review business and financial risks and recommend sound transaction structures.
• Manage portfolio quality, concentration risks, deteriorating accounts and remedial actions.
• Strengthen regulatory reporting, IFRS 9 understanding, credit processes and team capability.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Law or Economics.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience with demonstrated leadership in medium or large organisations.
• Commercial and corporate lending, credit analysis, cash-flow assessment, security documentation and portfolio-management expertise.
• Relevant professional certifications apply; postgraduate banking qualifications or a master’s degree are advantages.
