JOB VACANCY: DIRECTOR STRATEGY AND INNOVATION

The East African Development Bank (EADB) is seeking a highly qualified, experienced and strategic professional to fill the position of Director Strategy and Innovation, based in Kampala, Uganda.

The successful candidate will support the Bank's development, alignment and implementation of corporate strategy to ensure sustainable growth in lending, capital productivity and the delivery of its development mandate across its member states.

The role will lead strategy formulation, innovation, performance monitoring and organisational development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the Bank's strategic plans.

• Translate corporate strategy into funded annual plans, targets and measurable performance indicators.

• Oversee strategy review and stewardship.

• Support strategic planning, innovation and organisational transformation.

• Monitor organisational performance and measure strategic outcomes.

• Promote data analytics and evidence-based decision-making.

• Support the Bank's development goals and institutional effectiveness.

• Provide strategic advice to senior management.

Reporting To: Senior Director Research Strategy and Innovation.

Qualifications and Experience

Academic Qualifications

• Master's degree in Strategic Management, Organisational Development, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, Data Science, Development Studies, Public Policy or a related field.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.

Professional Qualifications

• Certification or training in strategy development, innovation management or performance management is an added advantage.

• Membership in a relevant professional body, such as the Strategic Management Society, PMI or AAPM, is an advantage.

Experience Required

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in strategic planning, organisational development, restructuring, corporate performance, innovation or institutional development.

• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a multilateral development bank, financial institution or development organisation.

• Demonstrated experience leading strategy formulation, organisational restructuring, innovation initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.

• Experience leading restructuring processes in a development bank or commercial bank is an added advantage.
