The Operations Officer – Fleet will oversee daily fleet and transportation activities to ensure efficient vehicle utilization, timely deliveries, proper maintenance and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
The position involves coordinating drivers, monitoring fleet performance, controlling fuel consumption and ensuring company vehicles remain in safe working condition.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily truck dispatch and delivery schedules.
- Plan routes to support timely and efficient transportation.
- Monitor vehicle movement and utilization.
- Maximize fleet productivity and minimize operational delays.
- Schedule preventive maintenance, servicing and repairs.
- Follow up on maintenance activities for trucks and related equipment.
- Ensure vehicles comply with company policies and road-safety standards.
- Monitor compliance with insurance and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyse fuel consumption.
- Identify fuel overconsumption, misuse and inefficient routing.
- Use GPS tracking and fleet-management systems.
- Monitor vehicle locations, mileage, driver behaviour and trip performance.
- Supervise drivers and transport personnel.
- Monitor driver attendance and performance.
- Maintain fleet records and documentation.
- Maintain service schedules, accident reports, licences, registrations and insurance records.
- Investigate accidents, breakdowns and other operational challenges.
- Recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Prepare fleet-performance reports.
- Report on fuel usage, downtime, maintenance costs and delivery efficiency.
- Support cost-control initiatives to improve transport efficiency and reduce operating expenses.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Candidates should have:
- Diploma in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in fleet operations, transport management or logistics coordination.
- Experience managing trucking operations and supervising drivers is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with transport compliance and regulatory requirements.
