Job Overview
SBC Tanzania Limited, a beverage company involved in manufacturing, distribution and sales of PepsiCo brands across Tanzania, is recruiting a Purchasing Officer for its Arusha Plant.
The successful candidate will help coordinate procurement activities, maintain material standards, manage vendors and service providers, and ensure compliance with purchasing and import procedures.
The role supports operational efficiency, timely material availability and effective supplier management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coordinate Procurement
-
Ensure purchasing activities are completed on time.

Manage purchasing operations within allocated budgets.

Establish procurement priorities and schedules for the team.
2. Materials Management & Compliance
-
Manage inventory levels and material standards.
-
Ensure compliance with corporate policies.
-
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) relating to materials.
3. Vendors & Service Providers
-
Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers.
-
Ensure suppliers operate in accordance with SBC policies.

Monitor work progress and service quality.
4. Imports & Clearance
-
Ensure timely preparation of import declaration forms.
-
Coordinate clearance of imported goods.
-
Maintain compliance with import formalities and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Procurement & Logistics or a related field.
Professional Experience
At least three years of experience handling similar procurement and purchasing responsibilities.
Required Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of procurement procedures.

Understanding of basic accounting practices.

Basic materials management knowledge.

Knowledge of customs rules — essential.

Knowledge of government regulations.

Vendor coordination and supplier management.

Planning, reporting and operational compliance.
Key Performance Indicators
Success in the position will be assessed through:

Timely purchasing of required materials.
