Key Responsibilities
- Support quality-assurance and quality-control activities across relevant operations.
- Conduct inspections, sampling, testing or documentation reviews as assigned.
- Record non-conformances, investigate quality issues and support corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate quality records and follow approved procedures.
- Coordinate with production and other teams on quality requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant qualification and experience in quality assurance, quality control, laboratory science, manufacturing or a related field as stated in the original advert.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, plastics or regulated manufacturing is an advantage.

About the Role
Tanga Pharmaceutical & Plastics Ltd (TPPL) is a manufacturer of personal care and cosmetic products in East Africa, with brands across skin care, hair care and related product categories.
The company is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA & QC) Executive to support its quality operations in Tanzania.
The successful candidate will conduct quality inspections and laboratory testing, maintain accurate documentation, identify non-conformances and help ensure that raw materials, packaging, in-process products and finished goods comply with TPPL quality standards, ISO 22716 Cosmetic GMP guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements.

Proposed Salary: TZS 500,000
Job Purpose
To assist with and ensure robust day-to-day quality assurance and quality control activities, verifying that raw materials, packaging, in-process materials and finished cosmetic and personal care products meet TPPL standards, ISO 22716 Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily quality inspections of raw materials, packaging materials and finished goods.
- Perform standard laboratory testing, including microbiological, chemical and physical analysis, on batches and materials.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 22716 standards on the production floor.
- Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, batch records and laboratory testing logs.
- Identify and promptly report product non-conformances, quality deviations and related issues to the team supervisor.
- Support internal and supplier quality audits and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is appropriately calibrated, maintained and used safely.
- Collaborate with Production and Warehouse teams to maintain consistent product quality.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology or a related science field.
- Experience: Between 2 and 5 years of relevant QA/QC experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Industry Preference: Experience in cosmetics, personal care, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or pharmaceutical manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Managerial Experience: Not required.
- Availability: Candidates who can join immediately or on short notice are preferred.

- Strong understanding of ISO 22716 Cosmetic GMP, quality assurance and quality control testing principles.
- Hands-on laboratory testing and inspection skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in quality documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
