System Administrator

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux servers, particularly RHEL and SLES environments.
  • Manage VMware vSphere environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines.
  • Provision, migrate, optimize, and decommission virtual machines while managing compute, storage, and networking resources.
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Monitor server, virtual machine, and infrastructure performance, capacity, and availability.
  • Support enterprise storage, backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and business continuity environments.
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support and perform root cause analysis within agreed SLAs.
  • Support infrastructure implementations, migrations, upgrades, and high-availability deployments.
  • Use scripting and automation tools to streamline administration, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation and collaborate with internal technical teams, vendors, and customers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Linux systems administration.
  • Strong experience with RHEL and/or SUSE Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter technologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions is an added advantage.

Professional Certifications

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
  • SUSE Certified Administrator.
  • SUSE Certified Engineer.
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
  • Other relevant Linux, VMware, Cloud, Networking, or Infrastructure certifications.

  • Linux system administration expertise.
  • VMware virtualization management.
  • Enterprise storage and backup administration.
  • Infrastructure troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Networking fundamentals.
  • Automation and scripting skills.
  • System monitoring and performance tuning.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
