Job Overview

An opportunity is available for a qualified and experienced Vice Head of Finance Department based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The successful candidate will support the Head of Finance in overseeing financial operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, financial reconciliations, regulatory reporting and internal financial controls.

The position requires a finance professional with strong technical accounting skills, proven experience in financial reporting and statutory compliance, and the ability to coordinate finance department operations.

Candidates must hold a CPA(T) qualification and possess at least five years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, taxation or financial reporting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting and Accounting

• Oversee financial reporting activities.

• Coordinate financial reconciliations.

• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.

• Support timely preparation of financial information.

2. Tax Compliance and Statutory Reporting

• Coordinate tax compliance activities.

• Oversee statutory tax filings.

• Liaise with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).

3. Financial Controls and Revenue Assurance

• Strengthen internal financial controls.

4. Budgeting and Financial Planning

Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree in:

Mandatory Professional Qualification

CPA(T) certification is mandatory.

Professional Experience

• Minimum five years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, Tax or Financial Reporting.

• At least two years of supervisory or senior-level finance experience is preferred.

• Strong practical experience in financial reporting, tax compliance, reconciliations and statutory requirements.

Big Four Accounting Experience
