Job Overview
IITA is seeking a Digital Tools Officer to support the PROSSIVA project through digital tool development, ICT data handling, and web management. The role will support scaling and integration of digital platforms for the cassava seed system in Tanzania, working closely with regulators, partners, and IITA teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide digital tools and ICT expertise to the PROSSIVA project
- Serve as the focal point for the Digital Tools and Scaling Pillar for the cassava component in Tanzania
- Support scaling and enhancement of the Seed Tracker ICT platform in collaboration with IITA‑Ibadan
- Work with regulatory partners to strengthen adoption and independent use of Seed Tracker, including self‑certification
- Collect and analyze Seed Tracker usage data from seed producers
- Support integration and use of digital tools by regulators and seed producers
- Extend adoption of the AI CropVAR variety identification application
- Manage ICT data handling and project website updates
- Prepare reports with metrics on digital tool usage, data delivery, and website access
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in digital tool development, ICT data management, and website administration
- Experience working with digital platforms, databases, and data analytics tools
- Familiarity with agricultural digital tools is an added advantage
- Experience supporting system scaling, feature enhancement, and user adoption
- Experience working with government/regulatory institutions and development partners is desirable
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
